The checks were a gift from the late John Sherwin, a director of the former Union Trust Bank, which was acquired by Huntington Bank in the 1980s.Dating back more than a century, several checks were personally written and signed by U.S. Presidents, including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson to name a few.
