However, riparian plants are subject to reductions in GS and ETa due to factors such as salinity and depth to groundwater that cannot be detected by remote sensing, so the ratio of ETa to LAI is not constant or predictable without knowledge of the physiological constraints on ETa at a given site [17,18,56].
