Dye adsorptive opaque agents, such as carbon black and the like, are particularly suitable for use in an opaque agent in certain sensors such as the carbon dioxide sensor because of such agent's ability to block a broad band of optical wave lengths and to prevent the migration of unwanted solvent soluble dyes from adjacent sensing elements during the overcoating process.
