  • in the case of SRL, the army was recruiting from the same source as the rebels. so there was hardly any qualitative edge. they lacked junior leaders input and discipline was an issue. what i find extremely commendable is EO???s decision to train new troops in Angola, rather than go for retraining of available troops (who have already had an established attitude towards firefight).
