For most of the hydrocarbons the correlation is very poor; the correlation is stronger for those compounds, such as toluene and m+p xylene, whose outdoor concentration contributes most of the indoor concentration.It is reasonable to think that a significant portion of the indoor concentrations of these compounds comes from outdoor air with little or no contribution from inside.
