The Hump was a diverse forested woodland only a few years back before first 40 and then a further 36 trees that had been marked for preservation were cut down by the BNSF. Now the City of White Rock literally mows down more of the bush and then this week hires loggers (not arborists in my books) to reduce 12 trees including Canada's Big Leaf maple to cordwood.
