In international armed conflicts, prisoners of war have the right to write to their families immediately after capture and inform them of their capture, address and state of health[731] and to send and receive cards and letters.[732] These cards and letters may be limited in number if it is deemed necessary, but may not be limited to fewer than two letters and four cards monthly, not including t
