Combining the impact of such a reform on retirement behavior, benefit payments, contributions to the social security system, and other taxes paid as a result of retention in the labor force -- there is an estimated fiscal benefit to the illustrative policy change of over 80,000 Euros per worker, or about 1.2 percent of GDP in Germany.
