It is considered to have developed from the earliest days of the slave trade in Brazil, as enslaved Africans brought their beliefs with them when they were transported here.[1] Although Candombl?? is practiced primarily in Brazil, it is also practiced in other Latin American countries, including Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Colombia, having as many as two million followers.[1][2]
