Artists such as Queen Latifah, Erykah Badu and Sister Souljah, embrace the entire spectrum of Black women???s roles and identities in society, and make specific reference to themselves in their lyrics as ???Asiatic Black women???, ???Nubian Queens???, or ???sistas droppin??? science to the people???, which is suggestive of their self-constructed identities and intellectual prowess (Keyes 256).
