Epitaxial growth on silicon wafers or substrates is a process which takes place at temperatures between 900??? C. and 1250??? C. in flowing hydrogen and other gases (e.g. SiCl4 or SiHCl3) using a graphite susceptor covered with gas-proof coatings which do not react with them.
