In this view, the defence was that the covenant had not been broken; and if the plaintiff had resumed the three trades during the period of the apprenticeship, the apprentice must have resumed his service; whereas, if the plaintiff's following the three trades was a condition, the moment that he ceased to follow them the apprentice was absolutely discharged.
