Framed around the argument that the imagination that drives modern politics and economics in Africa perpetuates the sacrificing of the poor and weak in Africa, the book calls for forms of politics and social engagement grounded in a different type of sacrifice (in the sense of ???sacra-facere???: making sacred) ??? one that serves and makes sacred the lives of the weak and the poor.
