  • As an aside however I do not think the issue of Halal certification is necessarily related to religious intolerance - the practice of ritual slaughter is a barbaric act of cruelty towards living beings, and any society, but especially one that promotes peace and respect for all living creatures (as Buddhism is supposed to), is perfectly entitled to ban such a practice in my opinion.
