We deep fry ours every year which is so not at all the healthiest way to go but it is absolutely the easiest because (if you set it in the basket instead of skewering the thing) it floats up to the top of the oil when it is done so you do not have to do a whole lot of guessing (and it cooks in about an hour and leaves our oven free for pies and stuffing and other dishes). :) Even though you say the
