There was also sandalwoodwhich had proved a very lucrative pursuit from about 1850, and because of thesandalwood cutters, there was a myriad of tracks crisscrossing through the bush.There was also much birdlife, birds such as willie wag tails, magpies, robin red breasts,tom **** (thornbills), parrots, crows just to name a few and in the early years emuswandered the bush.
