A June 2003 study conducted at Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium showed a relationship between the amount of time school-age children spend around chlorinated swimming pools and lung permeability.When pool chemicals such as chlorine interact with sweat, skin cells, dander and other organic substances found in swimming pools, chemical reactions occur.
