Examples of suitable bases for the production of colour photographic materials are films and sheets of semisynthetic and synthetic polymers, such as cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, cellulose butyrate, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate and polycarbonate, and paper laminated with a barytes layer or an a-olefin polymer layer (e.g. polyethylene).
